It was brought back from Shetland in the late 18th century, to the Netherlands. It was \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ekep\u003c\/em\u003et in a cabinet for display. Later it became part of the archive of Het Fries Museum. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe orginal is worked in handspun, handdyed yarn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe pattern comes in 2 sizes. One as close to the original as I could get with yarn, size and look. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe other a bit larger knit with other colours. In this pattern, certain parts had to be omitted to make it the same size as the original.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe large kep is 50cm circumference and the small kep 44cm. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLarge Kep:\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLength: approx. 70cm or 27.5”, without the pompom.
